Nadira and Ryan Hurley, the founders of Vert & Vogue, met in 2001 at a Parisian men's boutique that Nadira managed. After buying an entire new wardrobe from her, Ryan mustered the courage to ask Nadira on a date. A year later, they were married and, a year after that, living in New York. Vert & Vogue is the child born out of this love story, a combination of Ryan’s passion for sustainable business and Nadira’s fashion savvy. Simplicity makes a powerful statement when it’s in the hands of this Seattle-based jewelry designer. Faris Du Graf debuted her namesake collection in 2012 while working for a design firm in Oakland. It wasn’t long before she decamped to her hometown in the Pacific Northwest to put her degree in architecture to the test with jewelry full time. Sleek, sculptural shapes are inspired by the things Faris is inspired by in her day to day life: from nature and city life, to hip hop and pop culture. Each collection is minimalist and timeless with handmade details that give each piece a distinctive personality. Although the designer favors brass for its workability and aesthetic, she also loves to use unexpected materials that she finds on her travels, such as vinyl record shards and vintage Czech glass.
