This small and intimate studio and boutique was founded by Leslie Fraley and first opened its doors in November of 2013 in Kansas City. Finefolk’s captivating collection of artistic wares has garnered a loyal following for the selection of lifestyle goods that are all made with integrity by gifted designers and artists. In order to accommodate the boutique’s growing selection, Finefolk moved to a larger location which now has even more room for artful homewares, books and beauty products as well as clothing. With designers like Lauren Manoogian, Black Crane and Maryam Nassir Zadeh, we’re basically in heaven.
How do you make jeans—something most of us wear every week, if not every day—feel new again? For R13, the answer is simple: you destroy them. Founded in 2008 by a former Ralph Lauren exec, R13 has made a name for itself by infusing their denim with a punk sensibility that includes rips, tears, and a lot of attitude. That POV has carried over into shirts, footwear, and sweaters, too. And for those of you just looking for a new pair of straightforward jeans without the holes, fear not: R13 has plenty of clean styles, too.
