SCHAI Eclipse Artisan Shirtdress
The Eclipse Artisan Shirtdress features a breezy structure and crescent-shaped sleeves that artfully expand and ease its silhouette. The dress is weightless, cut from a gentler and less bulky cotton than conventional menswear. The oversized front and back patch pockets and self-tie belt polish off the dress’ “artist on-duty” look. This piece is a closet staple: you can wear it many ways. You can re-work its look over time. Lightly layer it opened as a woven cardigan or light jacket. Wear it closed over dresses, skirts and trousers. The belt can knotted in the back, on the side or can be tied as a playful neck tie. S C H A I is an honest representation of designer Suk Chai’s own intellectual and intuitive beliefs about beauty, longevity, and comfort. Growing up the youngest daughter of a fisherman and never having her own wardrobe, Suk Chai learned about timeless silhouettes and the value of materials. From there she put herself through design school in New York and spent 14 years innovating and exacting for the luxury department store cliente. Plus, she continues to work outside her brand as a creative consultant for major Korean and American fashion companies while creating seasonal collections for S C H A I. With elegantly modern shapes and cutting-edge architectural lines, her designs have the energy to transform the body, mind, and materials, when worn.
