Founder John Barbour started importing oil cloth into England at the end of the 19th century, establishing a heritage company that is currently run by the family’s fifth generation. Known for its iconic waxed cotton jackets which are still made in the United Kingdom, the brand also produces a full range of luxury garments for men and women. Collaborations with well-known menswear and technical brands including SOPHNET., White Mountaineering, Tokihito Yoshida, and adidas Originals have helped broaden Barbour’s reach. The brand has received appointments to supply waterproof and protective clothing to British royalty and is sold in over 40 countries worldwide.
