South Africa, Kenya, and Morocco are just a few of the countries currently contributing their unique styles of sandals to the women’s line. Think furry slips-ons from Morocco and leather-soled Kenyan flats with woven denim ribbons as laces. James sources labor and materials during her bi-monthly trips throughout Africa, where she’s recently partnered with the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative to streamline production facilities and secure proper living wages for her producers in Kenya. A lover of textiles with a passion for travel and efficiency, James and Brothers Vellies has only just begun their surely inspirational journey to fashion giant status.
