A one-of-a-kind confection of a dress if there ever was one! Softly textured from an assortment of lovely chenille bedspreads. Features elbow length sleeves, a gentle scoop neck, and side seam pockets. This dress features one of a kind bedspreads that we hand picked. They may include wear, distress, marks, and other signs of age intentionally as we believe this adds to the character of the finished garment. History of chenille: in 1895, 15 year old Catherine Evans of Dalton, Georgia handmade a tufted bedspread for herself. It was immediately popular, and she continued to make them for family and friends until demand increased to a point where she could no longer keep up, so she enlisted neighboring women and taught them her technique. By the 1920s Georgia had become the tufted chenille bedspread capital of the US, and by the 1930s, companies had started to industrialize the process.
