Today, Danner is proud to re-introduce this classic boot. Every single pair is built by hand in Portland, Oregon with full-grain leather, Vibram Kletterlift outsoles, and waterproof GORE-TEX liners. As a truly purpose-built hiking boot made with heritage construction methods, the Portland Select Mountain Light trades a few of the traditionally all-leather materials for lighter weight, comfortable, and more breathable options in a few areas to ensure all-day functionality in the woods, on the pathways, and in the streets. The Mountain Light Brown features full-grain leather uppers for longevity, the strongest and most durable form of leather. The one-piece leather upper design eliminates openings to keep debris and water out. 100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX liners ensure that no water gets in, while allowing sweat and moisture to get out. Specifically designed for comfort and durability, the Vibram Kletterlift Outsole provides superb shock absorption and the rubber compound guarantees great traction and stability on both wet and dry surfaces. Handcrafted to provide a wider platform, Danner's legendary stitchdown construction offers increased stability underfoot, as well as being a rebuildable construction method - Danner, as well as many cobblers, are able to resole the boots when needed, extending their lifetimes exponentially and making them lifetime boots with proper care. This EE width is designed to fit an average width foot, similar to a D width. The 650 EE last offers a more relaxed fit for casual, everyday wear while still offering support and stability.
