The Optical Movement Pillow Cover was created as a personal challenge. DittoHouse's Molly wanted to see how much optical activity she could get with only 4 yarn colors. She created the design and was thrilled to see that juxtaposing diagonal lines created the illusion of so many more than 4 colors. As color maestro Josef Albers says We experience the fact that color and seeing color depends on its juxtaposition with other colors, its shape, its placement, and especially upon its quantity. All of which is to say that any one color has innumerable looks. The pillow cover is knitted in the USA with sustainable fibers. Pillow insert not included. The yarn used to make many DittoHouse products utilizes pre- and post- consumer textile waste. The waste cotton materials are expertly sorted by color and de-fiberized to be spun into new yarns. Since this ingenious process uses materials which have already been dyed, no new dying is needed to create these yarns.
