Nadira and Ryan Hurley, the founders of Vert & Vogue, met in 2001 at a Parisian men's boutique that Nadira managed. After buying an entire new wardrobe from her, Ryan mustered the courage to ask Nadira on a date. A year later, they were married and, a year after that, living in New York. Vert & Vogue is the child born out of this love story, a combination of Ryan’s passion for sustainable business and Nadira’s fashion savvy. First Rite was launched in 2015 in San Francisco, CA by designer Nikki Garcia. Years of working in all aspects of the industry from retail to small label and corporate design finally converged into the idea of a better way, a smaller footprint, a more hands on approach, personal relationships, and an involvement in the process from raw material to finished product. The result is an ongoing series of interchangeable pieces and sets designed from all natural fibers that fit effortlessly into any wardrobe and outlast seasonal trends. Our wovens are made in Los Angeles, CA using fair wage and labor practices, and our knitwear is made by a woman owned and operated workshop in Lima, Peru.
