A Shantung 'straw' hat is made from high performance paper rolled into a fine yarn and then woven, a process perfected by the Japanese in 610 A.D. This lighter, yet very strong "Washi" paper offers a perfect panama alternative that is softer than traditionally hard straw headwear and creates a soft, casual hat with flexibility. Finished with a contrasting woven band detail and an adjustable interior sweat band. brim: 3" circumference: 22.5" (adjustable with inside drawstring) 90% paper / 10% cotton
