The Designer
Prior to designing clothes for a living, Ilana Kohn worked as a successful illustrator for The New Yorker, the New York Times and Kiehl’s (among many others) for close to a decade. Ilana began to craft ideas for a clothing line in 2011, drawing on her lifelong love of fashion, and boy are we glad she did. The Brooklyn-based designer is renowned for creating effortless, clean and classic clothing. Think relaxed silhouettes, fabric with the perfect drape and bold yet totally wearable prints and hues. Ilana’s signature move are those canvas jumpsuits and separates that elegantly frame the body while allowing plenty of room for movement. We chatted with Ilana about her past as an illustrator and where she finds her inspiration.
