The ties look cool just dangling down, but you can tie them to keep the hat on when its windy. Handmade in Brooklyn, New York in the Lola Hats Bushwick studio. - Body: Wheat Straw, Trim: Cowhide - One Size: Medium 22 1/2 - Crown Height: 5 1/2, Brim: Approx 3 1/2 About the process and craft: Lola Ehrlich began making specialty and one-of-kind hats in the late 1980s out of her eponymous studio on St. Marks Place in New York's East Village. She continues to make each hat by hand with a team of milliners in her studio in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Lola Hats are made with vintage or new blocks handcrafted by an Italian artisan based in Paris. Each hat is stretched on a block and then steamed and pressed by hand. The same level of attention goes into trims, which are sew on by hand and adapted to the individual hat.
