They've used a natural ecru canvas to represent the fabric they use to line all of their garments and then overdyed it and injected a shot of playfulness along with this seasons colors into the classic Novesta chunky sole unit. Handmade since the 1930’s in central Slovakia, Novesta are a European classic. Their iconic Star Master silhouette is made with humble machinery that presses the natural rubber soles onto the 100% cotton canvas uppers avoids the use of toxic shoe glues so these beauties are friendly on your feet and our precious planet. - The Novesta brand dates back to the 1930s, when the famous shoemaker Jan Antonin Bata opened a new factory in the small town of Partizánske in the middle of Slovakia. Over time, Novesta has become one of the best-loved and most popular brands throughout Europe. Novesta’s unique sneakers, which pair imaginative design with timeless sophistication, are a favorite around the world. For Novesta, quality design refers to more than fashion. They are dedicated to manufacturing shoes according to the highest environmental standards. That’s why they use materials such as natural rubber and 100% cotton and linen.
