The Narwhal is a little piece of fashion heaven nestled between restaurants and design stores in Toronto's Rosedale neighborhood. Opened by friends Sydney Wills and Marisa Buchkowsky in 2010, they keep their racks stocked with an impressive designer edit including Ulla Johnson, Acne Studios, A.L.C., Rag & Bone, Rachel Comey, Raquel Allegra, Mociun and more.

Having been raised in Berkeley, California by free-spirited artisan parents, fashion designer Raquel Allegra was immersed in creativity from a very young age. Today she is an innovator on the fashion scene and her signature shredding technique is instantly recognizable. Like a true artist, her design inspiration comes from the most unconventional places. Case in point: the full length webbed cocoon shapes that originated from her liberating experiments with vintage t-shirts recycled from the Los Angeles County Prison System. Today Allegra is an international success with customers all over the globe who love her lavish, bohemian style and use of recycled fabrics. Raquel has continued to keep us on our toes since hitting the fashion scene and we can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
