The wide silhouetted selvedge jeans feature Taiga Takahashis iconic original denim manufactured in Okayama. The item uses original 100% American organic cotton denim woven on an old-type power loom in Okayama. This 3/1 left twill, light oz denim is woven slowly on a shuttle loom, preserving the natural unevenness of cotton yarn for a desirable irregular texture. The warp yarn is dyed with indigo mixed with sulfur dye for a green-cast, weathered look, using a rope dyeing technique that leaves a white core. The weft is custom-made nep yarn dyed in a yellowed natural color to express the passage of time. By combining these yarns, Taiga Takahashi achieves a unique deep indigo blue. The fabric is finished with a sanforized process to prevent shrinkage. This selvedge denim features a white edge visible in various parts like the reverse side of the belt. Inspired by 1940s details, the jeans include replicated Art Dco buttons and rivets in original colors. The signature leather patch is mud-dyed in Amami Oshima Island.
