The Dyás is a slow fashion initiative that collaborates with emerging artists from a variety of disciplines. Serving as a creative community platform, the Dyás combines ethics, sustainability, and creativity through crafts-manship and design to create treasured garments that will last a lifetime. By reducing waste, repurposing goods, and pushing for sustainability from our supply chain, the Dyás is an initiative to change the existing fashion industry. At the same time, however, we are committed to never losing the magic and artistry that characterizes fashion and first made everyone that is a part of this industry fall in love with the process of creating. Our name, the Dyás, comes from the term used by Aristotle to refer to the “indeterminate duality” of permanence and change. Fashion changes but the clothes we make are permanent, and so are their environmental and social impacts. Creating unique pieces of wearable art that are sustainably sourced and produced, the team at the Dyás embraces the “indeterminate duality” of permanence and change by creating for the present and the future.
