The Boutique
The Fold was inspired by three identifying characteristics: modern, thoughtful and elevated. In pursuing the modern, they look for both established and emerging designers that are current, progressive, and constantly moving the needle forward in the fashion world. In selecting the thoughtful, they study their designers, their sourcing and production methods, and how they use their platforms. (Most of the designers are NY or LA based, with much of their product designed and even made in the US) In curating the elevated, they seek to bring a certain sophistication, refinement, and discerning style to Omaha. The Fold brings together products of the highest of quality that are meant to be investment pieces in your wardrobe for years to come.
The Designer
Designer Ulla Johnson had somewhat of a bohemian upbringing. She was raised by two archaeologists and spent much of her childhood traveling. Her nomadic history helped to shape her design POV and in 2000, immediately after graduating from university, Ulla launched her first eponymous label. Since then the Ulla Johnson name has become synonymous with fine tailoring, detailed embroidery, natural fabrics and a careful focus on fit and form. Having launched its first shoe collection in the fall of 2013, the line now includes a full selection of products with an emphasis on artisanal craftsmanship and handmade processes.
