Dame Vivienne Westwood hardly needs an introduction. A huge influence on punk culture in the 1970s, the London designer is largely responsible for our obsession with plaid as well as introducing modern punk to mainstream fashion. She began her career making clothes for fellow designer, Malcolm McLaren's boutique where she was designing for bands like The Sex Pistols. Using traditional Scottish tartan and unexpected embellishments like chains, safety pins and razor blades, Vivienne Westwood’s designs pulled inspiration from music and fashion, changing the landscape of both. The designer’s fearless attitude continued into environmental issues and she founded the Climate Revolution movement. As if we needed any more reason to love this legend.
Aw yeah!
