It was 2003 when Yohji Yamamoto began working with Adidas on the label, which marries sport classics — bomber jackets, sweatpants, sneakers — with ambitious design. To deem it “athleisure” would belittle the well-respected collection, though you could certainly credit it as one of the earliest visions of hyper-stylish sportswear.
