Lesser known, perhaps, is the fresh wave of quietly thriving menswear designers that are gaining international recognition from consumers and shops in the know.
We're stoked to have recently started working with a few of them and thought an introduction was in order. Here's who to keep your eye on in Austin.
FORTUNE GOODS is the product of a clash between the minds of Carson Monahan and Jon Sneden. With a passion for both design and story, they combine experience, creative backgrounds, and appreciation of vintage objects to create things with a purpose, all made in the US. From garment to accessory and old to new, they share the things they love that are tried, true, soulful, and made to last.
Established in 2015, M CONNAIS in an avant-garde fashion label pushing the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm. The brand aims to create products for the art inclined consumer. With roots in Beijing and rural Texas, the husband and wife creative team seek to design sophisticated apparel with a distinct aesthetic reflecting contrasting backgrounds.
Esby apparel was founded in 2014 by designer, Stephanie Beard, and features quality clothing for women and men with a menswear mentality. Designed in Austin and produced in Los Angeles and Dallas, each piece has been meticulously thought out and well-planned through the design process. With a philosophy that places emphasis on buying well-made clothes that you can wear often, the ethos behind Esby apparel is just as straightforward as their minimal and sustainable aesthetic.
