Designer Notes: Alex Crane
Outerwear is arguably the most integral part of every wardrobe (especially this time of year). A good coat is our shield against the elements, the carrier of our valuables, and the finishing touch to our outfits. With this in mind, we're always on the hunt for that one coat or jacket that we can wear all year round; one that's versatile enough to wear over or under any wardrobe item. We turned to our friend, designer Alex Crane, for a chat about the hero jacket from his fall/winter collection—the piece that can be worn on it's own for those milder days and that’s perfect for layering under an overcoat for colder ones.
"The Point Jacket is our favorite this season. Made in L.A. with U.S. waxed cotton, it's a clean, less-heritage-y Barbour jacket. You can wear it anywhere, from the streets of Brooklyn to the wild. The four patch pockets are top-notch organizers (right now I have a green tea bag in one pocket, my phone in another, my wallet in another, and a pack of almonds in another...). And waxed cotton is the best: It conforms to your body, resists dirt and rain, and develops a patina that makes it more beautiful over time (killer highs-and-lows)." —Alex Crane, designer.
