This fall we’re camping, but we couldn’t get further away from the woods. We’re craving extravagance, playfulness, and theatricality. It’s about making a statement and having fun. Susan Sontag writes in her famous Notes on “Camp” that “to camp is a mode of seduction— one which employs flamboyant mannerisms susceptible of a doable interpretation: gestures full of duplicity, with a witty meaning for cognoscenti and another, more impersonal, for outsiders.” We’re all about having fun getting dressed, for ourselves and for the sake of having fun. With this approach, we can revel in on-purpose and ironic “bad” taste. Check out our camp faves, including plastic, sequined, and cheetah gems in the mix below.
