SC103
SC103 is the New York City brand behind the cool-girl leather chain tote that you’re seeing on the likes of designer Maryam Nassir Zadeh and model Camilla de Terre. Founders and collaborative duo Sophie Andes-Gascon and Claire McKinney launched their label in 2019, working mainly with repurposed materials and creating everything with their own four hands under one roof. Explore their original handbags below.
Bronze Age
Renée Power launched Bronze Age in 2016, offering reinterpreted feminine silhouettes for the modern woman. Vintage pieces and artisanal goods are at the core of Power’s design inspiration—she draws from such artifacts to create chic contemporary looks that transform classy ladylike-ness into cool sophistication through a clean and minimal approach (pillowy folds and scrunches against a monotone palette). Perfect for fancy dinners and events, her bags also pair excellently with jeans and a t-shirt for an unexpected yet elevated look.
GANNI
While Copenhagen’s Ganni isn’t the “new girl” on the block, the more than 20-year-old Scandinavian label boasts continual global success thanks to current creative directors and husband-and-wife duo Nicolaj and Ditte Reffstrup. In 2009, the Reffstrups transformed the cashmere brand into a full-fledged ready-to-wear label with a cult following. Their handbags are no exception—they are understated yet desirably twisted, showcasing playful details like neon colors and soft knots.
Coperni
Reinterpreting '60s mod fashion is effortlessly natural for Coperni design duo Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant. The pair founded their Paris-based womenswear brand after studying together at Mod’Art in 2009 with a shared taste for minimal and modern. With their talent and unique perspective, it’s no wonder that the two designers drove the rebirth of the French maison, Courègges, while also managing the birth of their own brand. Among the streamlined frocks and sets, Coperni handbags stand out for their sculptural quality. These pieces add edge to your everyday look.
Cordera
Sisters Mónica and María founded Cordera in 2008 with a focus on offering contemporary and minimal design in luxurious fabrics—that said, the two remain dedicated to sustainable practices such as local sourcing and production, as well as offering looks that aren’t confined to one season. Their pieces are the ones you’ll use time and time again for everyday dressing. That same idea applies to their neutral-hued handbags—these cross body bags come in varying sizes and shapes that are perfectly practical to carry your essentials while blending beautifully into your ensemble.
