There are many aspects of style, but at the end of the day, don't you think it should bring a smile to your face? It's an ethos we share with one of our favorite fun-loving brands, Simon Miller. The California-based label is known for combining vibrant colors and bold patterns into playful, timeless pieces with a nod to vintage nostalgia. The line between whimsical and luxurious is a fine one, but Simon Miller CEO and creative director Chelsea Hansford is a master. She shares the latest looks, along with some of her her design inspo, below.



It’s not always easy to have a brand that’s both playful and luxurious. How do you balance those aspects of your style to create an elevated yet approachable brand?
It’s a seesaw, and the middle ground is my checks and balances. I find luxury often to be too serious and mostly neutral, yet playful brands typically lean young. I try to offer bold options to the working creatives who wear luxury but like to have fun with their wardrobe. I tend to explore print and color in fun ways and keep the silhouettes chic.


How do you decide what patterns, colors, and textures to incorporate into a new collection?
I’m a theme girl. We concept a theme for each collection—sometimes an inspirational location and sometimes a concept—and we go deep into vintage research and storytelling.



How does being based in SoCal influence your style?
I love the sun and clothes that look good under the sun. Growing up in South Florida and moving to LA, my clothes give off that brightness.
