The COVID-19 vaccine is rolling out at last and getting your shot is now the event of the year. And, if you’re like me, it’s the only event of the past year. As someone who hates needles, I’ve never been more excited to get poked with one. After almost 13 months of chronic stress, isolation, and the same machine-washable WFH outfits (i.e. t-shirts and sweats) on rotation, my arm and my stagnant closet are ready for the boost.
While we still have a long way to go, I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope on the horizon during what is a truly historic moment—one worthy of a big, emotional sigh of relief, some happy tears, and a new outfit to bring it in. Never before have retail therapy and a cause for celebration coexisted so beautifully.
When it comes to choosing what to wear for the appointment, really the only must-haves are the ability to sit down at least semi-comfortably and to make your arm accessible. Loose-sleeved, short-sleeved, cold-shoulder, one-shoulder, or even no-shoulder, the possibilities are vast and I suggest going as extra as you want! I promise it will just be met with smiles from everyone around you and, let’s face it, we could all use more of those right now. In lieu of an “upper-arm access” search filter, here are some of my top picks for you to browse. Pair them with a band-aid and mask to complete the look. (And congrats!)
Aw yeah!
