Our 2025 Style Resolutions
New year, new chance to review our wardrobes and ask ourselves how we're lookin' in the months ahead. For most of us at Garmentory, our 2025 style resolutions are aligned with our mission of fashion with intention. We're prioritizing sustainability, thoughtful spending, and high-quality pieces from brands we feel good about. I’m proud to say I stayed true to my 2024 resolution, moving away from pieces that didn’t serve me. In fact, I shopped less last year than ever before. It was a year of what I’d like to call ‘style reflection,’ and I’m heading into 2025 with a much clearer sense of what I love and what truly suits me. This year, my resolution is to put those lessons into action—investing in forever pieces that might cost more upfront but will be cherished for years to come, not weeks.

I did a decent job of sticking to my 2024 style resolution of shopping less and focusing on special-occasion pieces and high-quality finds. My goal for 2025 is no different. I only want to buy things that genuinely excite me, not just because there’s a sale or I’m bored and need a little treat. I’m also due for a serious closet purge. Out with the old and in with the things that I’ll treasure in the long term.

I’ve never been one for New Year’s resolutions—I prefer not to wait for a specific time of year to make lifestyle changes. The same goes for my approach to fashion. Working in an industry driven by trends, it’s easy to feel the pull to follow the latest styles or buy something just to fit in. To counter this, I stick to a simple habit: whenever a piece catches my eye, I add it to a wish list with the date it was added. Then, I revisit it a month later. If I still love the item, I’ll consider it more thoughtfully. This practice has become a staple in my routine, and I highly recommend giving it a try! Here are a few items that have been on my wish list for months:

My 2025 style resolution is to invest in timeless, versatile pieces that I can wear for years to come. I want to build a wardrobe that is both classic and sustainable, where each item is well-made and has lasting power.

Customer Experience Supervisor
I’ve found myself in love with Americana and streetwear as of late, so I want to really push my style in those directions for 2025. That blend of quality fabrics and timeless looks while looking effortless seems hard to achieve, but I’m up for the challenge.

Senior Account Manager
Traveling as much as I have this year has helped me pair down my closet to what I’m calling my “suitcase wardrobe”—my most treasured, durable, classic pieces that won’t let me down. It’s been easier to let go of the stuff that doesn’t get much wear anyway. In 2025, I’m planning on spending some time listing some lesser-worn items for resale (shameless Garmentory resale plug "")) and only investing in the pieces that fill a gap in my wardrobe. Natural fibers when possible and well-constructed pieces in particular.

My heart is set on finding more accessories and items to highlight my wardrobe in 2025. I love tiny details in outfits and believe it is all in the little details when it comes to style.

Customer Experience Lead
I wish to enjoy the year in pieces that I purchased with intention. Natural fibers and emerging brands are my focus.
